Neil Ryan Edwards, a former Welsh footballer who was born 5 December 1970, is now a goalkeeper. He retired in 2006. He was also a player for Wales’s Under 21s. Since his retirement, he is now a coach for Bolton Wanderers and Carlisle United goalkeepers. As of 2012-13, he is currently coaching Liverpool’s U-18 goalkeepers.

Edwards was appointed goalkeeping coach for Carlisle United by Neil McDonald in summer 2006. He then moved to Bolton Wanderers as their assistant coach to Fred Barber.

Edwards was then offered two contracts by Rochdale as well as Bury. On 2 July 2005, Edwards joined Bury on an one-year contract with the promise of first- team football and a slightly higher salary. “Taff” was a Mancunian Gigg Lane player who played 24 League games before an injury ended his season. He decided to retire at season’s end.

Edwards, who was 3 September 1991, joined Stockport County to play for PS5,000. He played more than 200 games for Cheshire, but his first team opportunities were limited due to their elevated position in 1996-97.
