Boothe was unselected in 2016’s NBA draft. He played for the Miami Heat’s NBA Summer League team, but was ultimately not invited to preseason training camp.

Boothe signed with EWE Baskets Oldenburg of the German Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) on June 6, 2018. Boothe appeared in all 34 of EWE Baskets’ regular season games off the bench, averaging 12.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game (2nd-highest in the BBL) as the team finished second in the league.

Boothe signed with The Flexx Pistoia, an Italian Lega Basket Serie A team (LBA), on June 27, 2016. Boothe’s first professional season saw him average 11 points, 4.5 boards, and 1.4 assists over 32 games. Boothe was a Brooklyn Nets player in the 2017 NBA Summer League. Over five games, he averaged 6.6 points per game and 2 rebounds. He was not offered a spot to the Nets’ preseason roster.

Boothe was born in Gurnee Illinois, and attended Warren Township High School. Boothe averaged 14.4 point, 7.5 rebound, and 2.5 blocks per game in his senior season. Boothe struggled with his weight throughout high school. He weighed in at 285 pounds his senior year. This made it difficult for him to receive college offers. Boothe ultimately decided to play at the University of Toledo. They offered him the only scholarship available for 2012.

Boothe was a four year starter for the Toledo Rockets. Boothe was selected to the Mid-American Conference All-Freshman Team after his first season. As a junior, Boothe averaged 10 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. He was also named honorable mention All MAC. Boothe, a senior, led the MAC with 19.3 ppg, was third in the league with 9.0 rebounds/game, and averaged 3.3 assists. He was also named to the first team All-MAC. Boothe, along with Ben Simmons from LSU, was one of only two Division I players to average at least 19 point, nine rebounds and three assists in the 2015-16 season. With 155 blocked shots, he was Toledo’s top scorer with 1,494 points and tied for 10th with 10 rebounds.

Boothe signed with Sakarya Büyükşehir Belediyesi S.K. of the Turkish Basketball Super League (BSL) on July 11, 2017. He averaged 9.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 31 BSL games.
