Natalie Burgener is one of the most popular and richest Weightlifter who was born on November 7, 1983 in Protection, United States. Burgener began her sporting career as an athlete in gymnastics. However, her father Kirk Woolfolk encouraged her to start weightlifting. Kirk Woolfolk is a strength- and conditioning coach at Annapolis’ United States Naval Academy. Burgener, then eighteen years old, moved from Maryland to Colorado Springs to train and work as a resident at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. Her head coach ZygmuntSmalcerz was a gold medalist in the flyweight division of the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. She represented Poland. She attended the University of Colorado and received a bachelor’s in sports management.

Burgener was selected to the U.S. Olympic Weightlifting Team after she won three consecutive national championships. However, Casey, her future husband, was originally expected to be the third and last male Olympic qualifier from the United States. But, the national team decided instead to give two slots to male weightlifters. Burgener, along with Carissa Gump, qualified for the women’s middleweight category (63kg) at the 2008 Summer Olympics. This event saw her place 12th. She lifted 97 kg in single-motion snatch and lifted 114 kg in two-part clean and jerk. Her total weight was 211 kg.

Burgener was also engaged to Casey Burgener (a former super heavyweight champion at Pan American Games). After competing in their respective weightlifting classes at the 2007 World Weightlifting Championships, Bangkok, Thailand, Casey proposed while riding an elephant on a sightseeing tour.

She is an American weightlifter. She holds multiple American records, is a four-time national champion in weightlifting (2005-2008) and is a U.S. Olympic Training Center resident athlete in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A bronze medal was also awarded to her for the 63-kg division at the 2007 Pan American Games, Rio de Janeiro.

Burgener held the national record in the 63kg division once she had won four consecutive American weightlifting titles. In 2006 and 2007, she was named USA Weightlifting’s Lifter-of-the Year for her exceptional achievements and dedication to the sport. Burgener was also successful in weightlifting and qualified to the U.S. National Team for the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro. She won the bronze medal in that division with 213 kg (98 in Snatch and 95 in Clean and Jerk).

Three months after the Olympics, Burgener married Casey at his family’s home in California. She took a year off from the competition, and consequently, moved to San Diego, where she and her husband worked as assistant strength coaches at the University of San Diego. In 2010, Burgener returned to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and trained full-time at USOC, with the goal of medalling for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
