Nasrine Seraji is one of the most popular and richest Architect who was born on December 26, 1957 in Tehran, Tehran Province, Iran. After her studies at the Architectural Association in London and practising in London in architectural practice, Seraji moved to Paris in 1989 in order to set up her studio. Here architecture is considered both a cultural debate as well as a practice. Her involvement in teaching, research, and architectural practice has enriched her life. 1997: Renovation of 50 houses in Sarcelles, Val-d’Oise
Architect of the Temporary American Centre in Paris, Seraji has completed several notable buildings and projects, including apartment buildings in Vienna, student housing in Paris (2003) and an extension to the School of Architecture in Lille (2006), the latter were both nominated for the Mies Van der Rohe Prize in 2005 and 2007 respectively. Seraji was among the Jury members of the second 2A Continental Architectural Award held at Vienna, Austria in 2016. Big Heavy Beautiful, a complex mixed-use building for the Paris Transportation Authority comprising 213 housing units, a crèche, a bus depot and an associative garden was inaugurated in 2017.

Between 1993 and 2001 Seraji was a professor at Columbia University GSAPP, New York and at the Architectural Association, London, as a Diploma Unit Master and Princeton University as Visiting Prof. She also taught at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna, where she was the director of one of two architecture Master Schools. From 2001 to 2005, Seraji was the Chair and Professor of the Department of Architecture at Cornell University. By Presidential decree, she was made Dean of the Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Architecture Paris–Malaquais in 2006. In 2006, she was appointed Dean of the Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Architecture Paris-Malaquais by President Bush. She also held the positions of Professor of Ecology and Sustainability and Head of the Institute for Art and Architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. She was the Head of the Department of Architecture of the University of Hong Kong, where she is currently Professor of Architecture.
