He attended Imam University’s College of Shari’a, Riyadh.
Nasir al-Fahd, also known by the Arabic name Nasir bin Hamad al-Fahd, is a Saudi Arabian Salafist Islamic scholar and supporter of jihadism as well as using nuclear weapons against the United States. The Saudi Arabian government arrested him in 2003.
On 25 August 2015, PJ Media reported that al-Fahd had pledged his allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, leader of the Islamic State (ISIS or ISIL). He encouraged other Muslims to join the Islamic State and also pledge allegiance in a letter. The signature was however claimed to be forged by some Jabhat al- Nusra sympathizers.
Al-Fahd, along with other clerics affiliated with this school (such as Ali al- Khudair or Sulaiman Al-Alwan), became influential among jihadists. They condemned the actions taken by the Saudi state and supported their positions with the Quran. Al-Fahd supported the Taliban’s destruction in Afghanistan of the Buddhas of Bamiyan. Al-Fahd declared that any Muslim who helped the United States in Afghanistan or Iraq in any way was an infidel. Al-Fahd, in a 2003 fatwa approved of Muslim nations possessing Weapons of Mass Destruction to protect Muslims against harm from other countries.

Al-Fahd was a dean at Umm al-Qura University in 1992. After writing a poem slamming the “loose morals of the Saudi Interior Minister Prince Nayef Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud,” he was arrested in 1994. Al-Fahd was released in 1997 and became close to the Buraydah-based al-Shu’aybi School, a group named after Hamoud al-Aqla al-Shuebi.
The Saudi Arabian government arrested Al-Fahd in May 2003. Because it has supported some of the United States’ actions, he believes the Saudi state to be an apostate government. This is a war against Islam, which he defines as one that is focused on the killing of Muslims.
On 16 November 2012, a fatwa was posted online that was attributed to al-Fahd. It said that the Jews were the greatest enemies of Islam and that jihad against them anywhere in the world is an important duty of Muslims.
