Glasses, her fourth movie, was shown at the Berlin International Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival in 2008, as well as San Francisco International Film Festival. It had premiered one year before. Glasses won the Manfred Salzgeber award for “broaching the boundaries of cinema today” at the Berlin International Film Festival. The Grand Jury Prize For Dramatic World Cinema was also awarded to Glasses, but it lost out to Jens Jonssen’s The King of Ping Pong.
She also founded the production company Suurkiitos in 2008, which is Finnish for “thanks very much”. It handles all aspects of film distribution, including actor management and advertising. The company distributed her two other films. After a brief break, Toilet received limited theatrical release in Japan in 2010 and South Korea in 2010. It then went on to tour festivals across the globe, including Japan, America, Taiwan, and Canada. Rent-a-Cat, her film premiered at the Stockholm International Film Festival in 2012. It was nominated later for Best Feature at Oslo Films From The South Festival.

Ogigami was a student at Chiba University’s Image Science Program. She graduated in 1994 and moved to the United States to pursue film studies at the University of Southern California. She studied there for six years, learned English, and completed a master’s degree in film production. She returned to Japan in 2000 and began writing and directing movies.
Ogigami lived in the United States and worked as a cinematographer and camera operator. She also served as a production assistant. Ayako (1999) was her first short film. Hoshino, Yumino, kun (2001) was also her second. Yumino-kun was awarded 3 awards at the PIA Film Festival in the year that it premiered. Yoshino’s Barber Shop, her first feature film, premiered at the PIA Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival in 2004, winning awards at both. Love is Five, Seven, Five! was her next feature film. In 2005, she released her next feature film, Love is Five, Seven and Five! Her third film Kamome Diner, which was released in Japan in 2006, received a limited release. Later, it would tour a few festivals and won the 5th Best Film Award at the Yokohama Film Festival 2007.
