Nando Bodha is one of the most popular and richest Mauritian Politician who was born on February 3, 1954 in Mauritius. Nandcoomar Bodha MP, born nndkumaar bodhaa 3 February 1954, is currently the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Mauritius. He was previously the Minister for Tourism & Leisure in Mauritius. From 11 May 2010 to 26 juillet 2011, he has held this office. He previously held the same office in the MSM/MMM alliance government from 2000 to 2003. Pravind Jugnauth, who was sworn in as Deputy Prime Minster, assumed the office of Minister for Agriculture from 2003 to 2005. He was also appointed 8th in the Cabinet of Navin Rajgoolam.
2005: Navin Ramgoolam wins the general election against the MSM/MMM alliance. Pravind Jugnauth is elected as the Leader of MSM. Berenger takes over the role of Leader of Opposition. 2006 sees the dissolution of the coalition and MSM is the second-largest party within the parliament. The leader of the opposition was thus to be an MSM MP. Jugnauth announced Bodha would be the leader of the opposition until two MSM MPs resigned from the alliance and regrouped under the Mauritian Labour Party. Berenger was reappointed Leader of the Opposition after the MMM emerged as the second largest party.
The MSM/MMM coalition wins 2000’s election. He is elected 1st Member for Constituency No 16, Vacoas Floreal. He is elected Minister of Tourism & Leisure to the Cabinet of Anerood Jgnauth. Pravind Jugnauth was elected Minister of Agriculture. The cabinet was changed by Jugnaut’s resignation in 2003 and Paul Berenger being appointed as Prime Minister. Pravind Jugnauth was elected Deputy Prime Minister, and Bodha supported him as Minister for Agriculture between 2003-2005.

In 1995, he was a candidate for the MSM but the huge victory of the Mauritian Labour Party alliance and the Mauritian Militant Movement alliance decided otherwise. He continued his studies during this period and received an LLB degree from the University of Wolverhampton, in 1999. In 2000, he was admitted to the bar and began his practice.
Since 1996, he has been the general secretary for the Militant Socialist Movement. He is a journalist by trade and graduated from the University of Rennes, France. Before moving to the national television network, Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation, he was an educator at secondary school. He is appointed Managing Director of MBC in 1991. This position he held until 1995 when Navin Ramgoolam was elected Prime Minister.
In 2010, the Ptr-MSM-PMSD alliance won the general elections. He was therefore once again appointed as Minister of Tourism but resign from his position as all other cabinet members of the MSM did.
