Nancy Lynn Snyderman, born March 26, 1952, is an American journalist, author, and physician. For 15 years she served as a medical correspondent at ABC News. From 2006 to 2015, she was chief medical editor at NBC News. She frequently appeared on MSNBC, NBC Nightly News, and Today to discuss medical-related topics. Snyderman also works for the University of Pennsylvania’s otolaryngology head and neck surgery department.

Snyderman has won numerous awards for her broadcast medical reporting. These include several Emmy Awards and Edward R. Murrow Awards. She also received an Alfred I. duPont Award and a Gracie Award. KARK-TV awarded her an in-depth report award in 1986. Snyderman was the daughter of Joy Snyderman (a housewife) and Sanford Snyderman (a doctor). Her younger brother is also a doctor. She was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and graduated from South Side High School, in 1970. She graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor’s degree in microbiology. Snyderman then went on to medical school at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
