He also spent time in the solar technology field and designed the facade for a Coeseld-Lette high bay warehouse using photovoltaic module. The folded design of the modules extends vertically from the warehouse, and hovers on a mounted frame above the landscaped roof. Two contrasting components that generate an electrifying power are the deep-black solar module and greenish-blue sparkly crash glass. The installation of two main components on the solar facade creates the folding effect. Solar modules and crash glass are placed gradually at a 32deg angle. This ensures optimal solar radiation at Coesfeld’s geographical location. The folded, cascading arrangement for the PV-modules maximizes the sun’s energy and provides shade to the glass building behind. The warehouse’s interior does not require any additional cooling. Winter is when the sun is lower and the rays are less intense. Therefore, heating is not required. The warehouse can therefore be operated using an automatic ventilation system. His unique and exemplary symbiosis between engineering and design earned him the architecture award from the Stiftung Deutsche Pfandbriefbank. He is known for his innovative way of melting a crash glass image into single-pane safety glass using no adhesives.

1973 Nabo Gass embarked on a journey across Italy in search of answers to his questions about the future. It was Lorenzo Ghiberti’s colorful and vibrant stained glass painting in Florentine Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore. He received a classical education in glass painting and studied at the Wiesbaden School of Liberal Arts as well as at the Academy of Arts in Berlin in the 1970s. He founded “Atelier Transparent” in Wiesbaden in the middle of the 1980s, where he currently lives and works. Since 1986, glass has been the main focus of his artistic endeavours. His glass art has been featured in numerous exhibitions and commissions throughout Germany and abroad. Nabo Gass considers the conventional picture isolated in its own world. The glass picture, on the other hand, is an effort to come to an understanding with its surroundings. His pictures change according to their surroundings and light. Because the background is not entirely composed of the work itself, the composition is pulled into real space, becoming reality itself. This is in keeping with the theme of the artist’s work because they are taken from life, they are immanent.
