Mvondo Atangana is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on July 10, 1979 in Yaounde, Cameroon. Simon Pierre Mvondo Atangana, a former Cameroonian footballer who was born 10 July 1979, is known for his role as a forward in a variety of clubs across the globe. His football career started in Cameroon with Olympic Mvolye, Tonnerre Yaounde. He also played for Al-Fateh in Saudi Arabia. In 2000, he signed for Dundee United and made a move to Scotland. In 2002, he was loaned to Port Vale in England. After leaving Dundee United in 2002, Atangana joined Colchester United before moving to English nonleague clubs Grays Athletic, Halstead Town, and Halstead Town. Later, he played in eastern Europe with Luch-Energiya in Russia and Terek Grozny (Belarus) in the Luch-Energiya team. In 2006, he retired and returned to France in 2010 to play in the French club CO Saint- Dizier.

After impressing Alex Smith during a trial, Atangana signed a long-term contract with Dundee United in August 2000. He joined up with Alphonse Tami, his countryman, and joined Dundee United’s Scottish team. After making 11 league appearances with Dundee United in 2000-01, he was transferred to May

2001. He had not made the first-team for eight months.

Following his Dundee United exit, Atangana returned to England to join Colchester United in November 2002 on a weekly contract. He suffered another hamstring injury that left him out for one month in a match against Peterborough United on 26 December, following scoring seven goals in seven reserve matches.

In the summer of 2003, he was released by Colchester after being told he would not be offered a long-term contract, having made just six league appearances. He joined non-league Grays Athletic and scored the only goal in a 1–0 win over Chesham United on his debut. He later joined Halstead Town, scoring ten goals in 19 appearances for the club. While playing for Halstead, he went on trial with clubs in France and made a 3,200-mile round trip to Turkey for a trial with İstanbulspor.

After appearing for Cameroon’s under-21 team, Atangana made his first international appearance on 23/04 2000. He was called up to the bench to take the place of Pius Ndiefi in the 3-0 2002 World Cup qualifying victory over Somalia at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo.

Atangana was born in Yaounde and began his professional career in 1996 with Olympic Mvolye. He spent three seasons there. In 1998, he joined Al-Fateh and returned to Cameroon to join Tonnerre Yaounde in 1999. Atangana, who was with Tonnerre Yaounde during his time there, was called up to Cameroon’s national team. In April 2002, Atangana was released by Dundee United after just twelve appearances in all competitions.
