Otieno is one Kenya’s most decorated and successful footballers. He made his national team debut against Zaire in 1993, at the age 19 He has captained The Harambee Stars many times. He was also part of the 2004 Kenyan African Nations Cup team that finished in third place in their group’s first round, which prevented them from qualifying for the quarter-finals.
Otieno’s distinguished career has been on his continent. He played for AFC Leopards and Tusker FC, in Kenya, as well as for Santos in South Africa Premier Soccer League, 1997 to 2011.
