Movses Hakobyan is one of the most popular and richest Military Commander who was born on February 4, 1965 in Güneyçartar, Azerbaijan. Movses Hokobyan (Armenian: Movses hakobyan – born 4 February 1965) was a former commander of the NKR Defense Army. Hakobyan is the Chief Military Inspector for the Armed Forces since 24 May 2018.
Hakobyan, who was named deputy chief of General Staff of Armed Forces of Armenia in June 2015, was promoted to this position.
He was wounded at least three more times during the Nagorno–Karabakh War. From July to September 1992, Hakobyan was commander of the battalion in Chartar, his native village. From 1992 to 1993, he was the deputy commander and then commander of Shushi defense District. He commanded the defense at Monteaberd (Martuni) from September 1993 to December 1993. He was then commander of the 2nd Defense District in Martuni, and from 1998 to 1999 of the 4th Defense District in Askeran. Hakobyan, who was in charge of combat readiness, served as deputy commander of Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army from 1999 to 2001.

Hakobyan was a native of Chartar, Martuni in the Nagorno Karabakh Autonomous Oblast. In 1982, he graduated from Chartar’s secondary school and was admitted to the Alma-Ata Army Command College the following year. He served as an infantry commander in the Transcaucasian Military District’s motorized rifle regiment 553 from 1986 to 1987. As deputy commander of the rifle-company company, Hakobyan served in the Soviet-Afghan War in Afghanistan. He was appointed company commander of the Transcaucasian Military District’s 366 Motorized rifle Regiment, which was stationed at Stepanakert in 1988. Hakobyan joined Nagorno Karabakh Self-Defense Forces after the regiment was withdrawn from Stepanakert, March 1992.
After completing his studies at Russia’s Academy of the General Staff on July 24, 2002, Hakobyan was named Adviser to the Defense Ministry of Armenia and, in July 2003, as the first deputy commander and chief of the staff of the NKR Defense Army. By order of Arkadi Ghukasyan the President of NagornoKarabakh, Hakobyan was appointed Defence Minister of NagornoKarabakh. He succeeds Seyran Ohanyan.
