Mostafa Terrab is one of the most popular and richest Engineer who was born on October 19, 1955 in Fez, Morocco. Since 2006, Mostafa Terrab (Arabic : mSTf.lTrb; Born in Fez 1955) has been the chairman and chief executive officer of OCP, the Moroccan state-owned phosphate mining company. Terrab is also the President of International Fertilizer Organisation since 2019. Terrab was a advisor to His Majesty King Hassan II, and a member of the G-14 think tank. This group counted figures like Driss Jettou and Taieb Fassi Fihri.

He was awarded the Frederick C. Hennie II prize in 1998 for his contributions to the MIT Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science teaching program. Morocco World News named him Person-of-the Year in 2012 for his contribution to the “most crucial” sector of the Moroccan economy. In 2013, New African Magazine named him one of the 100 most influential Africans and Jeune Afrique Magazine one of 50 most influential Africans around the world in 2014.

Terrab was appointed Chief Executive Officer of OCP in 2006, and then Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the OCP Group when it became a Public Limited Company in June 2008. He is also Chairman of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.

In late 2019, Terrab was appointed to a 35-member committee for Moroccan Development, made up of a diverse cross-section of the most respected people in Morocco. The committee will deliver a report to His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the impacts of the reform programs initiated in the Kingdom, across education, society, environment, infrastructure and the economy. The report will also deliver recommendations on best practice and future initiatives.

Terrab returned to Morocco in 1992 and was made Charge de Mission to the Royal Cabinet under the late His Majesty King Hassan II. He then joined the Economic Summit for the Middle East & North Africa in 1995 as Secretary General.

Mostafa Terrab received his engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees, France, in 1979. He then completed a Masters of Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1982.
