Kashi’s works were displayed in the Landscape Art Forum, Berlin in 2003. He won the Minister for Education (Israel), Prize for Plastic Arts in 2004 and was awarded a scholarship by the Israel state lottery for an artist’s book. This was for his solo exhibition, “Cronos”, which took place in Noga Art Gallery in Tel Aviv in 2006. Kashi displayed an installation at his solo exhibition, “There Golden Island”, in Tel Aviv’s Bialik House Museum. Kashi was invited to show a solo exhibit of his work in 2012 at the Tefen Museum. An artist book was published in honor of the exhibition. It was supported by the Tefen Gallery and Noga Gallery, Tel Aviv.

Kashi was first to exhibit in 1992. That year, he won the America Israel Cultural Foundation Prize for a Young Artist. He was awarded the Science and Technology Minister’s Young Artist Prize in 1994. He was awarded a Cite Des Arts, Paris, France, staying scholarship in 1996. He was awarded the prize for encouraging art in 1997. In the same year, Kashi began to lecture at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem.

Kashi was the eighth child in a family of eight when he was born in Jerusalem in 1966. Efraim Kashi, his father, was a Solel Boneh construction worker who participated for many years in the building of the Israel Museum. Kashi was 13 years old when he was sent to Ben Shemen Youth Village boarding school. He painted large fields on both sides of the landscape, and later, the “Cronos” series. In his time at the boarding school, the loneliness, the differences and the feeling that he was home gave rise to the concept of “Non Places”. These works mainly show fields, night vegetation and trees floating from grasping in ground. Also, you can see his three-dimensional balls, painted in entanglement until the last detail.
