Goodenbour was selected to the USA team at the 1995 Pan American Games. However, only four countries committed, so the event was cancelled.
Less than four months later on September 28, 2016, Goodenbour was hired as San Francisco’s ninth head women’s basketball coach after her former Stanford Cardinal teammate and previous Dons coach Jennifer Azzi resigned from the post as head coach two weeks earlier.
On June 8, 2016, Cal State East Bay hired Goodenbour as head women’s basketball coach, after Suzy Barcomb moved up to Division I Seattle.
Goodenbour, who finished her college career in basketball, played pro basketball in Sweden for Linkspring Dambasket from 1995 to 1996. She then joined the American Basketball League for Richmond Rage in 1996-97, and the Portland Power in 1997 to 1998.

Goodenbour graduated in 1989 from Waterloo West High School, Waterloo. He then went on to play basketball for Stanford from 1989 to 1993. Goodenbour was a reserve guard for Stanford’s 1990 National Championship Team. She was a junior and was awarded Most Outstanding Player in 1992 when Stanford became national champions again. She set the record with 18 for the most three-pointers she made in the tournament.
Goodenbour was a women’s basketball coach at the University of San Francisco for one year between 1994 and 1995 before she began her professional career. In 2002, she was appointed associate head coach at Santa Rosa Junior College. In 2003, she was named head coach and led the team to two conference championships. In 2005, she was named Bay Valley Conference Coaches of the Year. She was named Bay Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 2005. After a season as an assistant coach at USF, she was promoted to head coach at Chico State Wildcats. In 2008, she was named Coach of the Year by the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Wildcats posted a 28-6 record, and were ranked 17th in Division II Coaches Poll.
Goodenbour was hired to coach women’s basketball at UC Irvine in 2008, where she remained for four years.
