Representative David Cicilline of Rhode Island’s 1st congressional District gave Walsh his endorsement. Walsh defeated Earnheart to win the 2018 Democratic Primary. Earnheart received 45% while Walsh got 55%. In the 2018 general election, Walsh was unopposed.
