Mitsuhisa Taguchi is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on February 14, 1955 in Kawabe, Akita Prefecture, Japan. Taguchi was born February 14, 1955 in Akita. He graduated from high school and joined Mitsubishi Motors in 1973. The club was named the Japan Soccer League champions in 1973 and the Emperor’s Cup champions in 1974. He was the replacement for Kenzo Yokoyama, who had been an established goalkeeper for Japan’s national team.

Taguchi, 64, died in Tokyo from respiratory failure on November 12, 2019.

He was part of the club’s most memorable seasons in 1978 when they won the Japanese treble: JSL Cup, Japan Soccer League and Emperor’s Cup. The club won the 1980 Emperor’s Cup as well as the 1981 JSL Cup, 1982 Japan Soccer League and the 1982 Japan Soccer League. In 1984, he retired. He participated in 161 games. He was named Best Eleven eight times (1977-1983)

Taguchi made his debut for Japan against South Korea on September 8, 1975. He was a regular goalkeeper in 1977 and participated at the 1978 Asian Games, 1978 World Cup qualification and the 1980 Summer Olympics qualification. He was made a captain in 1982 and participated at the 1982 Asian Games and 1984 Summer Olympics. From 1982 to 1984, he played in 59 games for Japan.
