Mirel Josa is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on June 1, 1963 in Tirana, Albania. Mirel Josa, a former player and coach in Albanian football, was born 1 June 1963. He was a former player in the Greek Alpha Ethniki of Nea Kavala, Aris and made 27 international appearances as a member of the Albanian national football team from 1984 to 1992.

Josa began his club career at 17 Nentori Tirana, where he played for ten years. He won three league titles with the club, along with fellow internationals and legends from Albania, Shkelqim Mca, Agustin Kola and Arben Minga. Fans will remember him for his goal against Dinamo Bucuresti, Romania, in the 1986-87 European Cup Winners’ Cup. This brought his team to the 16 best teams of the competition where they were eliminated by Malmo.

On 4 August 2012, Josa was unveiled as the new coach of Skënderbeu Korçë ahead of 2012–13 season.

Josa was appointed the new coach of Tirana on 2 November 2016 only a day following the sacking of Ilir Daja. It was his second return to Tirana, the first since 2006. During the presentation, club president Refik Halili stated that he sacrificed Daja for the returning of Josa. On 27 May 2017, Tirana suffered relegation for the first time in history after not going more than a goalless in the last matchday against Vllaznia in Shkodër, which saw the club finish the season in 9th place which relegated them. Four days later, Tirana won the Albanian Cup for the 16th in history, beating Skënderbeu 3–1 in the final. On 15 June, Josa left the club after terminating the contract by mutual consent.

His goal in the 1984 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship saw Albania draw with West Germany in Trier. It was a key factor in qualifying Albania for the quarter-finals. This eliminated Turkey, West Germany and Austria. Josa was awarded Master of Sports after that match.

Josa was a strong defensive and attacking midfielder in his youth. Josa scored a goal against Netherlands in the 1982 UEFA European Under-18 Championship in Finland. This resulted in a 1-3 defeat that disqualified Netherlands where Marco van Basten was present.
