Mac started his racing career in karting, just like many other drivers. He continued in karting through 2008. He began formula racing in 2009, when he retired from karting. He participated in 8 of 16 Danish Formula Ford races, and achieved six podium finishes as well as two victories. He finished the season in seventh place. He also took part in five rounds Formula BMW Europe and finished 23rd in that championship. Mac switched to Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup in 2010 and drove for KTR. He won three races, and was second behind Ludwig Ghidi (340 points).
He began racing in the FIA Formula Two Championship in 2011 and finished the season in solid 11th.
2nd place in debut season 2014 European Le Mans series or ELMS, Racing Ferrari 458 GT3 in the GTC Class.
