Mikkel Rufus Mutahi Bischoff, a former professional Danish footballer who was born on 3 February 1982, is a centre back. He joined Manchester City in 2001 after completing his senior career at AB. He made only two appearances for Manchester City in his four-year career and was then loaned to Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Sheffield Wednesday. He spent half of his season in Manchester City before returning to Denmark where he was reunited with Brondby for a few more years. Lyngby was the end of his Lyngby career in 2011. He also played for the Denmark under-21 team in four games.

Bischoff was able to return to Manchester City after the season ended. However, after another half-year, he signed a loan agreement with Sheffield Wednesday in March 2006. He made his Owls debut against QPR that day. Even though he sustained a minor injury, Bischoff still played a part in Wednesday’s escape from the Football League Championship. The goal that led to the victory over Wolves 3-1 is still talked about today by Wednesday fans. Manchester City released him along with nine of his teammates at the end of the season. In June 2006, he signed for Coventry City. Bischoff returned to Denmark in January 2007, after playing three games in seven month, to sign for Brondby IIF. He was a regular player during his first two seasons with the club.

In order to gain valuable first-team experience, Bischoff joined Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers as a loanee at the end of September 2004. He impressed in seven appearances, scoring a goal against Nottingham Forest. However, he decided to stay at Molineux and signed a season-long loan agreement with the club on the final day of the transfer window.

Bischoff was born in Copenhagen and made his senior debut at Akademisk Boldklub. He played only eleven Danish league games. He moved to England in May 2002 to join Manchester City for PS750,000. He was the fourth Dane who signed for Manchester City within a short time.
