Mikkel Beck is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on May 12, 1973 in Aarhus, Central Denmark Region, Denmark. Beck began his career at Kolding IF in Denmark’s lower league, and then he played one season in the Danish Superliga B 1909. Beck moved to Germany to play professionally in German 2. Bundesliga club Fortuna Koln in 1993. Beck was injured in his back in August 1994 and was unable to play from February 1995 until his recovery. He scored in five of his first five games, and was called up for the Danish national team in May 1995. In his six first national team games, he scored three goals and was later voted the 1995 Danish Sports Talent of the year. He was selected for the Danish national team to the Euro 1996 in England. He played in two games. He was then sold to Middlesbrough, an English Premier League club.
Beck lost his place in Denmark’s national team during his final year at Middlesbrough and the remainder of his time in England. He scored eight goals in ten matches at AaB and led the team to victory in the Danish Cup final. This earned him an international recall for Euro 2000. He was part of two matches during the tournament, and was later purchased by Lille, a French Division 1 club for PS500,000. Beck was unhappy with Lille coach Vahid Hailhodzic’s policy of rotating players and went on loan to AaB again in February 2002. Beck failed to make the Danish national team’s 2002 World Cup squad, despite his hopes of being called up. He sustained a series of injuries while back at Lille and was unable to play football for 18 months. After only two sessions of training, he was injured while trying out for Cordoba CF in Spain. He trained with Crystal Palace in January 2004 but was injured again during his time at Palace. Beck was unable to sign a contract, and he retired.
After reaching the 1997 FA Cup Final in his first season, Middlesbrough were relegated from the English First Division after a three point deduction for not playing a fixture. Beck stayed with Middlesbrough and was an integral part of the team that won promotion to Premier League the following year. Beck moved to Derby County, where he scored 24 goals in 91 league matches. This was in March 1999. Beck did not replicate his form with Boro. This was reflected in Beck’s failure to be a consistent winner of the Derby supporter polls, where he was consistently voted the worst Derby player. In October 1999, he did score a dramatic late equaliser against Southampton. Beck sought playing time and signed loan deals with English lower league clubs. In November 1999, Beck signed a two month loan agreement to Nottingham Forest. However, after one month, scoring against Portsmouth, Derby recalled him, due to a shortage of strikers. Beck was again out of the team after he sat on the bench for a single match before Derby purchased Belgian striker Branko Straupar. In February 2000, he was loaned to QPR for three months. Beck was then recalled by QPR in April 2000, despite his good performance for QPR. He was to be loaned to Aalborg Boldspilklub (AaB), the Danish Superliga club for the remainder of the 1999-2000 Superliga season.
