Mike Havenaar is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on May 20, 1987 in Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. Havenaar’s parents immigrated from the Netherlands to Japan in 1986. His father Dido signed up to play for Hiroshima-based Mazda FC of Japan Soccer League (now Sanfrecce Hiroshima, the J1 League). His mother, a former national champion in the pentathlon, was an athlete. His younger brother Nikki plays for SV Horn. He was previously a centre back for the U-17 Japan national team and U-18 Japan national teams. In 1994, the Havenaar family was naturalized Japanese citizens.
Ventforet Kofu signed him in 2010. He scored 20 goals in 30 games for the club, which was promoted to J1 League.
He made his debut for Japan on 2 September 2011 as a 70th-minute substitute against North Korea in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier match, striking the post. He scored his first ever goals for the national team with a brace, both headers, against Tajikistan on 11 October 2011 in the same competition. Japan won the game 8–0. Havenaar also participated in FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 coming on as a substitute and playing a total of 11 minutes in the competition.
In August 2011, he was called up to Japan’s training squad.
Havenaar was selected to play one match against Nigeria U-20 in the Japan U-20 World Cup 2007 squad.
