Larcher de Brito was a Portuguese citizen. When she was nine years of age, she moved to the United States with her family so that she could attend the Nick Bollettieri tennis academy in Bradenton, Florida. She remained there until the end 2007. She currently trains full-time alongside her father Antonio Larcher de Brito (Portuguese and Angola). Caroline is her mother from South Africa.
