Uva became the Head of the Youth Section at Zinella Volley Bologna in 1985. This was the same team Uva had previously played for. After becoming the Sisley Treviso team manager, he moved to become CEO of PVF Matera [it] in 1992. The Club was a success during his four-year tenure, winning two Champions Leagues, a European Supercup and three Italian Leagues. He was elected President of the Italian Women’s Volleyball League in 1996.
Uva was named CEO of Parma AC Football Club in 1996. Under his leadership, the club won a UEFA Cup and an Italian Cup. It was also runners-up twice in the Italian Serie A. Carlo Ancelotti was his first manager in Parma.
In 2006, Uva joined basketball club Lottomatica Virtus Roma as CEO reaching the Serie A Scudetto Finals and the Euroleague Top-16 on both occasions. He departed from the club at the expiration of his 2-year contract.
