Michele Cossato, an Italian former professional footballer, was born 28 April 1970 in Milan. He last played as a striker at Domegliara in Serie D. Federico Cossato, a former footballer, is his brother.

He returned to Verona in January 2000 to play for the Hellas team. He made his debut in Serie A on 6 February 2000. His match against Verona – Fiorentina ended with a 2-2. Cossato did not score any goals during the year. His precarious physical condition meant that he was unable to play in the 2000-2001 season (14 matches, 2 goal). He even delayed a goal that would have saved the team on June 24, 2001 during the play-off to escape relegation from Serie B between Reggina & Hellas Verona. He was a popular figure among Verona supporters. Cossato was nicknamed Super Mike, and several gadgets were named in his honor. The first Derby in Serie A was with Chievo. However, his physical problems kept him from continuing to play. He continued to use the ball continuously (7 appearances, 1 goal). Hellas was relegated to the Serie B at the end of the season. The attacker scored 3 goals in his 22 league appearances during his final season.

In the summer of 2006 he accepted the proposal by Claudio Paiola, ambitious president of Domegliara, training veronese of Valpolicella. He had therefore the possibility of closing his career close to home and at the same time, to make a good contribution in terms of experience to his new team, which had as its objective the jump in Serie D. In 2007, the Domegliara won the championship of Excellence gaining promotion. Cossato fell 16 times in two marking networks. Michele Cossato began his long football career in 1986-87 when he joined A.C. ChievoVerona. The team was then relegated to Serie C2. To gain experience playing in the Interregional Championship (currently Serie D), he was sold to Valdagno. He scored four goals in 19 matches for the Province of Vicenza. He was part of the most successful season for Chievo in 1988-1989, which saw them promoted to Serie C1. He was lent to Oltrepo, then to A.C. Perugia in Serie C1. He did not score any goals in the eight matches he played. The Chievo decided to retain the player in the 1991-1992 season. Unfortunately, his season was not memorable. He played only 3 matches and did not score a goal.

In 1992-93 Serie C1, Cossato was enshrined. This was the season in which Chievo nearly got promoted to Serie A. He left Chievo with Malesani, his trainer, at the end of the season. They were both big contributors to the championship team.

After the period with the Verona, Cossato was bought by ACF Fiorentina in September 2003. The trainer saw him as the expert attacker who could give a valuable contribution for the immediate return of the team in Serie A. However, the experience of Cossato with the team of Florence is anything but memorable. Between the beginning of the championship in January he played only a few minutes and didn’t score any goal. Thus, with the beginning of 2004, he moved to Cittadella, in Serie C1. Even with the Veneto team he failed to make better (10 presences, no goals). In 2004, the player signed the offer of Montichiari, playing in Serie C2. The first season with Lombard team was very positive. The player, in fact, went back to his goal continuity (15 goals in 27 presences) becoming a player of primary importance for his team. The championship 2005–2006 was Cossato’s last among professionals. He scored 2 goals.
