Michel Neyret is one of the most popular and richest Police Officer who was born on April 12, 1956 in Landrais, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. Michel Neyret, born 12 April 1956, is a disgraced ex-police chief of staff (2nd command) of Direction Interregionale de la Police Judiciaire de Lyon [[1]] (the Lyon Central Detective Branch). This role he held until his 2011 indictment for various offenses.

His name was made public after he was interrogated and taken into custody by the General Inspection of National Police [2]] [] (the “police of police”) on 29 September 2011. He was suspected of corrupting an illegal drug trade. After his arrest, he was charged with corruption, influence peddling and conspiracy to illegally trade drugs. He was also accused of violating professional confidentiality and being imprisoned at La Sante Prison. Michel Neyret was released on 23 May 2012, following an appeal in his favor. His driving license was suspended and he was placed under house arrest in Toul, Meurthe-et- Moselle.

On 16 February 2012, on the television program Complément d’enquête broadcast on France 2, his wife Nicole Neyret confirmed that she attempted to join the Israeli mafia. He was relieved of his functions on 7 September 2012 by Manuel Valls, the then prime minister

In May 2016, the prosecutor requested that Michel Neyret be to 4 years’ imprisonment, with a suspended sentence of 18 months. On 5 July 2016, the Correctional Tribunal of Paris sentenced him to two and a half years of prison. His wife Nicole Neyret was sentenced to 8 months of prison for having taken advantage of the “friends” of her husband.

He was an important figure in the French National Police and was awarded Chevalier (Knight), of the Legion of Honour 2004 for his outstanding work.
