Michalis Karchimakis, (Greek: Mikhales Karakhimakes), was born in Siteia (Crete, Greece), on November 9, 1957. He is a Greek politician belonging to the Panhellenic Socialist Movement. From 9 October 2009 to 17 Mai 2012, he was the Deputy Minister for Agricultural Development and Food and from 14 September 2010, the General Secretary of PASOK.
Michalis Karchimakis joined the PA.SO.K. Since its inception in 1974. In 1996, he was elected in his hometown prefecture of Lasithi as a Member to the Hellenic Parliament. However, he lost his seat following an appeal before the electoral court. In the national elections in 2000, 2007, and 2009, he was re- elected.
