At the 2008 Summer Paralympics Beijing, Teuber continued his success with two more medals. This time, he won a gold in Road time trial (LC4) as well as a silver in Individual pursuit (LC 4). He was defeated by Paolo Vigano who broke the world record for the fastest individual pursuit time. Teuber won the London Games Road time trial (C1) for his fifth career gold medal.
Teuber was nominated for the Laureus Award in 2003 and 2008, 2008, and 2010. In 2005 and 2009, he was the German Disability Athlete of the Year. In 2005 and 2008, he was awarded the Silbernes Lorbeerblatt (“Silver Bay Leaf”) twice. Sir Philip Craven (head of the International Paralympic Committee, IPC), appointed him a Paralympic Ambassador for 2008 Teuber is married with one child.

Michael Teuber, a German Paralympic cycling cyclist competing in the C1 classification events, was born 23 January 1968. Teuber is a four-time Summer Paralympic Games representative of Germany and a multiple medalist in both track and road disciplines. Two times, Teuber was named German male disability Sportsperson of Year. He is also a winner of the Laureus World Sports Awards.
Teuber won his first Paracycling World Champion in 1998, ten years after his accident. He won his first major title, the Road Race World Championship time trial event. He qualified for 2000 Summer Paralympics, finishing sixth in Road Race and seventh in pursuit. Teuber’s most successful Paralympics came four years later when he won two gold medals at Athens 2004 Games, in the Individual pursuit (LC 4) as well as the Time trial/Road Race (LC4). The day before the Individual Pursuit race, one of the carbon orthoses that supported his ankles broke, almost costing him his gold medal. Two technicians worked through the night to create a replacement for him. He didn’t have any spares.
On 30 November 2018 Teuber set a new UCI World Hour Record for the C1 classification of 42.583 km at Velodrom (Berlin).
