Michael Uzoukwu Absalom Jude Ihiekwe, an English footballer, was born 20 November 1992. He plays as a central defensive defender for Rotherham United.

Ihiekwe was released by Wolves and signed a two year deal with League Two side Tranmere Scouts on June 18, 2014. Ihiekwe, upon joining the club, stated that he was determined fight for his place in first team. He was also given the number five shirt before the start of the new season.

He joined League Two side Cheltenham Town initially on a month-long loan in January 2014. Ihiekwe then made his senior debut on 25 January 2014 in a 1–1 draw at Plymouth Argyle, with his loan then being extended to run until the end of the season, during which he made 13 appearances.

Ihiekwe was born in England and is of Nigerian descent. In September 2015, Ihiekwe was called up by England C.

Ihiekwe made Tranmere Rovers’ debut in the first game of the season against York City. He played 90 minutes. Ihiekwe has been the central defense’s starting eleven since his debut. Ihiekwe’s first Tranmere Rovers goal was scored on 1 November 2014 in a 2-2 draw with Stevenage. After a challenging match, Ihiekwe sustained an ankle injury in the match against Cambridge United. He was then taken off the field. He was not injured and returned to the first team in a 6-2 FA Cup final loss against Swansea City. He suffered an injury three days later, which kept him out of action for several weeks. Ihiekwe returned to the first team after he had recovered. He was substituted for Rory Donnelly at the 81st minute in a 3-2 defeat against Portsmouth on February 24, 2015. Although he regained his place in the first team towards the end, he was unable help the club as they were relegated into the Conference Premier. In his first season with Tranmere Rovers, Ihiekwe played 38 games.

Before he was released in the 2010-11 season, Ihiekwe was part of Liverpool’s academy team.
