Manuel Alejandro Carrasco de la O (born January 21, 1983, Chihuahua in Mexico) is commonly known as Menny. He was a former contestant on the Mexican reality TV series La Academia, Segunda Oportunidad.
The casting process for the next generation of Mexican TV Azteca, La Nueva Academia, begins in September 2009.
His wife Mariana and her son Manuel visited him at La Academia. He also had the chance to meet Alejandro Sanz, one of their favorite artists. Alejandro sang “Corazon Partido” in La Academia’s fourth concert. Due to low blood pressure and weak immune systems, he was decompensated. He was also under heavy antibiotics because of an infection in the airways. The final, which saw seven finalists competing for the first place, was held in Tuxtla and Gutierrez on December 20, 2009. 1989 was the year that Menny began to study music/theater at the Teatro Fernando Saavedra. This is where he first gets the opportunity to make a public debut in a montage from the play ” Vaseline”. Menny realized that singing and musical theater were essential to his life. He dropped out of school to pursue a solo career.

After a night full of emotions began the challenge acoustic with the song “Aqui estoy yo” by Luis Fonsi, opening the interpretation Menny playing the violin and then follow up with the piano, guitar Agustin, Sebastian with drawers and Oscar with bass, eventually excite the public and jurors after a close vote, managed to be crowned the winners of reality show.
