On January 30, 1999, he strangled 73-year-old Cosima “Gina” Guido, from Taranto, with a scarf, in her apartment in the center of Turin. On the stairs of the woman’s pied-à-terre two pieces of a kitchen towel with organic traces belonging to Minghella were found. She too was a sex worker.

Minghella murdered Anna Pagano, a Genoa prostitute, on April 18, 1978. She then hid her body in Sant’Olcese commune. Some shepherds found the corpse with its head broken and a ballpoint pen embedded inside it. Minghella tried to misdirect investigation by writing “Bricato Rose”, instead of “Brigate Rosse”, on the corpse. This spelling error was quickly noticed by police.
