He was the son of Swedish parents and was born in Hong Kong. He moved to Stockholm in 1981. He began his career as a drummer when he was eight years old. He played in pop bands, big bands and classical ensembles.
He joined the progressive rock band Anglagard at age 17. Anglagard was made up of musicians from Ekero and Waxholm. Anglagard was heavily influenced and influenced by Yes, Genesis, King Crimson and Genesis, but they also listened to lesser-known bands like Shylock, Cathedral, and Yezda Urfa. Anglagard’s instrumentation and dynamic range, often reminiscent of classical music, quickly made them a household name. The band was the first to adopt the latest digital equipment.
