Massimo Crippa (Italian pronunciation: [‘massimo ‘ ‘krippa] ; born on May 17, 1965) is an Italian former professional footballer who was midfielder. He is currently the sporting director of Renate. Crippa was a player for several Italian clubs during his career, and won numerous awards during his time with Napoli as well as Parma. At the international level He was a part of the Italy national team in the 1988 and 1998 Summer Olympics.
Crippa made the move to Parma during the summer of 1993, and during his debut season, Crippa was part of the team which was crowned the UEFA Super Cup over two matches in the match against A.C. Milan. Parma was defeated in the first leg, which was played on the Stadio Ennio Tardini 1-1, but it won the second leg 2 to 0 and Crippa scoring the game-winning goal in the extra time. Crippa scored another UEFA Cup at the end of 1994-95 when Parma defeated Juventus with a 2-1 the aggregate. Parma was second to Juventus in the year’s Serie A, and would repeat the feat during the 1995-96 season. Crippa was the first player from Parma to participate in a Champions League campaign during the 1997-98 campaign.
Crippa was appointed the sporting director of Renate in Lega Pro Seconda Divisione in the summer of 2010, a position which he currently holds.
Crippa quit Torino at the end of the season of 1988 and joined Napoli. He was playing alongside Diego Maradona, who was at the height of his talents, Crippa joined a strong midfield, which also included Alemao, Fernando De Napoli and Francesco Romano. In his debut season with Napoli, Crippa helped Napoli to finish second in Serie A and to win the UEFA Cup, beating VfB Stuttgart in the final. Crippa helped Napoli to defeat the threat to A.C. Milan to win the Scudetto following season. He scored one goal when Napoli won against Juventus 5-1 during the 90 Supercoppa Italiana.

Physically and determined, Crippa was a strong athlete, Crippa began his playing career in 1981-82 at A.C. Meda Mobil, in the Prima Categoria division, where he was part of the first team. Later, he joined with the Eccellenza Lombardy – the sixth highest level in Italian club football – at FBC Saronno for two seasons before moving to his home team, Seregno. His achievements brought him to the nearby Serie C2 club Pavia in the summer of 1986. After a brief stint with the club, he made the move towards Torino to play in Serie A. In the 1987-88 season , he had three goals scored with Turin. Turin club in his 29 league games.
After playing in the team’s under-21 squad, Crippa went on to play 17 times in Italy between 1988 between 1988 and 1996. The first time he played was in a 2-0 victory at home against Scotland on the 22nd of December, 1988. He scored his first internationally-known goal, in a friendly 3-1 victory over Turkey on the 14th of December 1994. Crippa was also a part of Italy in 2 Olympic Games: Seoul 1988 and Atlanta 1996 under the direction of manager Cesare Maldini. Crippa scored the winning goal in the quarter-final 2-1 victory over Sweden in the 1988 Olympics in which Italy reached the semi-finalsand ending the competition with a fourth-place finish.
In 1998, Crippa returned to Torino, who were playing in Serie B; the team were promoted in his first season back at the club. He returned to the Eccellenza Lombardy in 2000 with Canzese playing until 2002. He finished his career in 2003 playing for Seregno, the club of his city.
