Masayo Imura (Jing Cun Ya Dai ; born August 16 1950 Osaka, Japan) is a Japanese instructor of synchronized swimming, often referred to by the name of “mother of synchro”. She is currently chief coach for the Japanese National Synchronised Swimming Team.
She was an assistant coach for China’s team synchronized.
From 1984 to 2004, she was head coach of the Japan Synchronised Swimming Team for six Olympic Games in a row. The team was awarded silver medals during Olympic Games in 2000 as well as the 2004 Olympic Games.
