Mary Theresa Glindon (born 13 January 1957, Newcastle upon Tyne) is a British Labour Party politician who is elected the MP (MP) in North Tyneside since 2010.
In the general election of the month of May, 2010, she won over Liberal Democrat Councillor David Ord in a distant 2nd position to be in the seat, with 50.7 percent of the votes even though there was an 8.7 percent swing to Labour. Glindon is an associate of Labour Friends of Israel.
Glindon’s husband Ray is a councillor for Camperdown Ward on North Tyneside Council, as well as Cabinet Member for Finance and Resources since 2013. She is a practising Roman Catholic. She married Raymond Glindon in 2000. She has one daughter, a step-daughter and a step-son.
In 2013 she was one of 161 MPs to oppose the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013, though this was partially due to the fact the act was not ‘equal’ in that members of the public sector same sex couples would not be eligible for the same pension rights, which she stated during the debate. She is also a listed member of the House of Commons’ All-Party Parliamentary Pro-Life Group, opposing abortion. She has called for a commons debate on the badger cull, which she opposed.
In 2007, she was a supporter of the motion to give Freedom of the Borough of North Tyneside to Wallsend Boys Club.

Glindon was the first person elected as a representative of Battle Hill ward on North Tyneside Council in the local elections of 1995. At her time of election, she was referred to by her maiden name Mulgrove. Glindon went on to represent the district for 15 years before being selected to serve as the representative of Battle Hill ward 5 times.
In 2006, the Elected Mayor in North Tyneside John Harrison appointed Glindon to his Cabinet as cabinet member responsible for Health and Wellbeing and Older People’s Champion.
Glindon was selected in February 2010 as Labour candidate for the safe seat, while a Councillor for Battle Hill Ward on North Tyneside Council, after the previous MP Stephen Byers announced in November 2009 that he would not contest the next election.
