Brown was a two-time player at Bristol City the following season until he was released in May 2004. Brown later joined Conference club Forest Green Rovers, but was only a substitute until joining Tamworth on September 25, 2004. His time in Tamworth was not an extended one. Brown started his football career as a student at Bristol City. In his City debut as a substitute in the second half in place of Alex Meechan in the League Cup loss to Nottingham Forest on 15 September 1999, he became their youngest player ever, having reached just 16 and 712 days. Brown’s debut in the league was a month later on October 17, 1999, when he made his debut as a substitute in the final minutes to Tony Thorpe in a goalless draw at home against the local rivals Bristol Rovers. Brown also made one game in the league, and two appearances at the Football League Trophy, all as a substitute during that season.
