Marty Sammon (born October 14 1977) is an American blues keyboardist. Sammon is renowned for his lively performances, improvisations in the mastery of classic blues styles (ragtime as well as blues). Sammon has earned himself the title of an ambassador for Chicago blues and has appeared on numerous commercially- released DVDs, TV show (US and Europe) in addition to Grammy Award winning albums. The book he wrote, Blues Keyboard Method, with an introduction written by Chuck Leavell, of the Rolling Stones, was published by Hal Leonard in 2015.

In October 2014 Sammon was a part of a show with Buddy Guy and Tom Hambridge at the White House for “A Celebration of American Creativity: In Performance at the White House” to mark fifty years of National Endowment for the Humanities.

For the past 10 years, Sammon has been performing across the globe as a member of Buddy Guy and as an opening act for his own group known as The Marty Sammon Band. He was the producer on Guy’s Grammy-award winning album Living Proof. He also has recorded numerous recordings with his name. As an ambassador for Chicago blues and blues culture, Sammon will also be performing at universities and schools to spread the message of the blues and career development.

Born and raised in the South Side of Chicago, in a family that has Irish roots, Sammon began learning to play the piano when he was an infant. Sammon learned the songs from the tradition of Irish traditional songs, ear-to-ear as he listened to recordings with his father, Martin Sammon Sr., an officer in the Chicago Police Department.
