Born at New Kru Town, Brooks was raised in Montserrado County where she completed her secondary and primary schooling. She relocated into Harbel, Margibi County to her parents in the First Liberian Civil War before returning to Montserrado County in 1993 to relocate to the ELWA Community. Martina completed her secondary education in Calvary Chapel School in 2004.
