Mark Sink (born 1958, Denver, CO) is an American photographer who is best known for his romantic portraiture. His most famous photos document life and works of artists like Andy Warhol, Jean Michel Basquiat, Rene Ricard and other artists of his time in the New York art scene of the 1980s. After that, he returned to Denver. Mark Sink has been exhibiting his work professionally from 1978 until the present from museums, commercial galleries, and other establishments.
Mark Sink is the founder and director of Month of Photography Denver (MoP). Since 2004 the festival has seen a rise in popularity. Sink annually coordinates more than eighty museums, galleries and art venues to showcase international and national photography from across Colorado. In the past few years of the MoP Festival, RedLine has been the venue for the main exhibit personally directed by Mark Sink. In 2017, on top of their own space for exhibitions, Colorado Photographic Arts Center organized an exhibit in their RedLine Project Space gallery.
Prior to the creation for the MCA Denver, Mark Sink was operating his own gallery of art GALLERY SINK located in the historical Denver Highland neighborhood opened in 1998. Some of the artists that were featured include Andy Warhol, Alice Neel, Chris Makos, Marie Cosindas, Paul Outerbridge, Walter Chappell, Winter Prather, Imogen Cunningham and many others. GALLERY SINK had great success throughout its existence until the collapse of the markets in 2008, at which point Sink made the decision to concentrate on his own art practice while relocating his curatorial and art consultancy practice to freelance, and putting in time working on his own Month of Photography. Mark Sink has been teaching lecturing, reviewing and lecturing about photographs since the year 1995, in Colorado and throughout the United States. After transforming the gallery into an ethereal fashion, Sink has been traveling for numerous photo events and juried shows, including FotoFest, CENTER, PhotoLucida, PhotoFence, Palm Springs Photo festival in NY and AZ.

In the course of his professional career Mark Sink founded many organisations that showcase innovative photography. In 1992, the Denver Salon was established in 1992. In 2014, it was changed to the Denver Collage Club nomadically organizing exhibitions and exhibiting contemporary art that is created by current Colorado artists. In 1996, Mark Sink, Dale Chisman, Marina Graves and Lawrence Argent together with Philanthropist Sue Cannon opened Denver’s first Museum of Contemporary Art. Prior to the MCA moved into its current site in 2007 Mark Sink was the one of the first directors of the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver until 2000 , and was the co-founder of the board until 2005.
