Mark Leonard Shurtleff (born August 9th 1957) is an American attorney who founded Shurtleff Law Firm and the Shurtleff Law Firm and the Shurtleff Group. It was his partner at the Washington, D.C. office of the law firm Troutman Sanders. He also served as an Salt Lake County Commissioner and the Attorney General of the State of Utah.

In May, 2009 Shurtleff revealed, in his Twitter message that he was planning to participate in his 2010 Republican primary. In November of 2009 Shurtleff announced his resignation from the U.S. Senate in order to spend more time with his daughter who was suffering from health issues. The year before, he co-founded his own organization, the Utah Pharmaceutical Drug Crime Project that was an unimaginable multi-agency team of experts from all disciplines to tackle the problem of addiction to prescription drugs. Participants comprised agencies like the DEA, FBI, Utah Departments of Public Safety and Human Services as well as Salt Lake City Police Department.
