On May 28, 2008, Albrighton resigned from an extension of one year at Cambridge and decided for a move to Conference National rivals Stevenage Borough with a two-year contract for an unspecified amount. The move brought Albrighton together with Stevenage Manager Graham Westley, who had signed Albrighton during his time at Rushden. Albrighton was first promoted to captain by Westley however, he later lost his captaincy due to a period absent from the first-team. Albrighton scored his debut goals for the Hertfordshire team during a 2-0 victory at home in the match against Salisbury City, and played 32 games in this season. Albrighton was also involved in 19 games in the club’s excellent 2009-10 campaign that saw Stevenage was crowned their first Conference National title, but was let go after being released by Graham Westley at the end of the season.
On 19 August 2019, 43-year old Albrighton joined Coventry Sphinx.
Albrighton was let go by Doncaster in the month of May 2006 and then became a member of Boston United in the same month. Albrighton was part of 14 games for Boston United. Lincolnshire outfit, and made his debut in the 3-2 loss in the 3-2 loss to Grimsby Town. But his appearances in the first team were very limited, so he got loaned for League Two rivals Darlington in November of 2006. Albrighton played three times during his loan period of one month for the Quakers and then returned to his club of parent in December. Albrighton was loaned out once more in January 2007 but the second time with Conference National outfit Rushden & Diamonds. Albrighton impressed coach Graham Westley, helping the team to remain unbeaten for the entire month. The loan period was therefore extended to the end in the current season. Albrighton was back in Boston in April 2007 but was let go one month later, and was then signed by Cambridge United on a one-year contract. Albrighton made his debut with the Cambridgeshire team with a 2-1 defeat towards York City at Bootham Crescent before scoring the goal he scored in the 5-1 demolition against Farsley Celtic a week later. Albrighton played 45 games in the team’s lineup, and scored twice when they were just a hair short of missing out when they returned in the Football League following a 1-0 final play-off defeat against Exeter City. He was named Cambridge United’s The Player of the Year’ during this season.

Albrighton was born in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, Albrighton began his career at Atherstone United, then of the Southern League Premier Division, before joining Telford United in September 1999 at a cost of P10,000. Albrighton made his debut for the Shropshire side just after the 3-1 win over Yeovil Town, making a additional 16 appearances throughout 1999-2000 season, scoring once during the course of his career. Albrighton played 27 times during the 2000-01 season for the club and scored twice. Albrighton continued to play as a first- team player the next season, scoring five times from the defence, as well as playing 30 times. At the beginning of the 2002-03 season Albrighton was signed by Doncaster Rovers on a free transfer. Albrighton played 19 times for Doncaster in the following season however, he was loaned in the direction of Chester City in February 2006. The player made his Chester debut in a 1-0 loss against Grimsby Town at Blundell Park and then played eight more matches for the club after being granted a loan extension by a month. After returning back to Doncaster in April 2006 and made his final appearance for Doncaster in a 2-1 loss against Bradford City.
In late June 2010, Albrighton signed for Conference National outfit Kidderminster Harriers on a free transfer. He made his Kidderminster debut in the club’s first game of the 2010–11 season, playing the whole match in the centre of defence in a 2–1 away win against York City.
