Marion Strecker is one of the most popular and richest Photographer who was born on October 17, 1960 in São Paulo, Brazil. Prior to her profession as a journalist and an online reporter, Strecker was a music teacher and performer. Also, she served as a director at Colegio Modelo, an Elementary middle and High School located in Sao Paulo, founded by her father Prof. Nilo Campos Gomes (1923-1984).

In UOL, Strecker served as the VP of Content for 15 years (1996 to 2011) managing an entire newsroom of more than 200 journalists, designers, coders, as well as content strategists. Prior to joining the UOL group of founding partners, Marion Strecker worked at the Folha de S.Paulo Newsroom from 1984 until 1996. She was a journalist as well as an art critic. She was also editor of the section for culture Editor of supplements, coordinator of planning, coordinator of special reports special reporter director of archives, as well as director of the Folha News Agency. Strecker was among the writers of the “Folha Newsroom Manual”.

Back to Brazil, Márion Strecker became the communication director of Instituto de Cultura Contemporânea (ICCo), from 2013 to 2014, and continued writing her column at Folha de S.Paulo, until 2015. In charge of also the Folha News Agency from 1994 on, Strecker headed the team that created the first site to Folha’s Media Group in Brazil (launched on the 9th of July 1995). In the following year, she gathered the first content team to prepare for the debut of UOL in April of 1996. The company quickly was able to establish itself as the leading player on Brazil’s Brazilian Internet market. From 2011 to 2012 Strecker worked as an Editor of the Largest UOL. Marion Strecker (born October 17 1960, in Sao Paulo) is a Brazilian photographer and journalist widely regarded as being among the early pioneers of the Internet business across South America. Strecker is among the first creators of UOL. In the beginning of her career as a journalist she was also a writer, as well as a co-editor alongside Lisette Lagnado, the editor of Arte em Sao Paulo, an art magazine that was founded by the Brazilian artist Paulo Baravelli and committed to the visual arts.

After overseeing the digitization of the Newspaper Archives Project in the early 90s, he led an organization that created a variety of technological products such as audiotext-based services (1993) and the newspaper’s annual full-text CD-ROMs (1994-96) and similar systems to the BBS that allowed all Folha de S.Paulo reporters and reporters from abroad access to the archive online by using microcomputers and telephone lines. Due to this work, Strecker was awarded the Folha Award for Journalists, Special Category in 1995.

Since the 80s, she has contributed as a writer to several magazines and an invited speaker to many seminars and conferences in Brazil, US and Europe – the Abraji International Congress on Investigative Journalism in São Paulo (2011); the International Symposium on Online Journalism at the University of Texas in Austin (2009 and 2003); the ONA Conference (Online News Association) in New York City (2005); the IIR’Broadband Content Congress and the News World Conference in Barcelona (2000) and the International Seminar on Online Journalism MediaOn in São Paulo (2009 and 2007).
