Her mom, Pina, was a pianist, and is now an instructor of piano, while her father Antonio who is also a pianist and a musician and professor. When Vacatello was just four at the age of four, she started taking the Yamaha Music Course. At the age of seven, she began studying in the solo piano class with a teacher of the well-known Italian musician and teacher Vincenzo Vitale, Aldo Tramma. When she reached the age of seven, she had already enrolled in the International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola which she joined as a master in 2006 having studied under the tutelage by Franco Scala and Piero Rattalino. In the same year, she was also a student at the Milan Conservatory “G. Verdi” along with Riccardo Risaliti as well as Paolo Bordoni where in 1999 she received her degree in piano with a cum Laude Honourable Mention. The conservatory is the same one, and Vacatello took composition classes for several years alongside Bruno Zanolini and Fabio Vacchi. Vacatello has completed the Postgraduate Music Performance course in the Royal Academy of Music in London alongside Christopher Elton as well as Dominique Merlet in Paris. She took part in masterclasses taught by Alexander Lonquich, Louis Lortie, Andreij Jasinskj, Leslie Howard, Michael Dalberto, Andrea Lucchesini, Alexis Weissenberg, Vitaly Margulis, Sergeij Dorensky, Elisso Virsaladze.

In June 2016 she and Quatuor Zäide performed the world premier of ‘Unrisen’ for SmartPianoQuintet by Marco Momi. Classical performances and deep contemporary music met in Paris with the new technology made in Ircam: electronic sound through instruments —- that is, without speakers.
