Mariana Preda was born in 1994 and was raised in Dragodana, Romania. She was a student at the ‘Balasa’ Doamna High School’ in Targoviste and then in 2013, she relocated to Amsterdam to further studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in classical and contemporary music. Some of her teachers are Gheorghe Zamfir, Damian Draghici and Matthijs Koene.

On March 23, 2015, she appeared in a performance known as “Clipe de Viata” at the National Theatre of Bucharest along with famous actors from Romania and musicians like Maria Dinulescu, Ion Caramitru, Felicia Filip, Maia Morgenstern and many more. Mariana was a part of the inaugural season of Untold Festival, the largest electronic music festival in Romania that took it’s place in the city of Cluj-Napoca.

On 27 August Mariana Preda held a concert with Japanese pianist Daisuke Kanamaru at Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ for the 40th Edition of the Uitmarkt, one of the most important cultural events in The Netherlands.

Mariana Preda (born 23 January 1994) is a Romanian pan flute player as well as an actress and film director. Her fame was boosted through her role in the multi-awarded documentary Doina. As an artist, she is well-known by her debut album Sunrise which was released on the record label MAP in Italy in 2013, and for performing at numerous shows around the globe.
