After 15 years, 18 April 2009, he resigned from Rapid Bucharest after Wednesday’s 2-4 defeat to Dinamo Bucharest in the Romanian Cup quarter-finals. The place he was given was taken by an assistant coach who was previously Adrian Iencsi.
In October 2012, Rada was reinstalled as the head coach of Rapid. He was sacked at the end of the season.
In September 2014, Rada took again the control of Rapid. His contract was ended by mutual agreement in December 2014.
The month of March was 2008 and, following departure of Mircea Rednic Rada was appointed for the first time the role of manager principal. He lasted nine rounds until the conclusion of the season before being replaced by Jose Peseiro. In the next season, he took over as director of Rapid Bucharest II. Rapid Bucharest II, in the third division.

He first began playing in Romania’s second division (Liga II) in 1981, playing for Autobuzul Bucharest. After 2 seasons playing within Liga II, he was transferred to Rapid Bucharest, where he had huge success. After three years in the high divisions with Rapid Bucharest, he moved to Universitatea Craiova in Craiova, where he only played for a single season. After 1987, he went back to his club of choice that was Rapid Bucharest, where he continued to play for four more years. Following that, was retired.
In 1991, following his had retired, he began in a new job, this time as manager. In the following three years, after a period of training before he took on the role of assistant manager of the team that was first formed by Rapid Bucharest. Then came by a lengthy period during which the position was assistant manager for the team’s first squad, manager of two teams, manager of the academy of the club or director of the club.
In January 2009, after an unsatisfying first part of the season for the first team, Rada was recalled to the first team. He managed the club together with Adrian Iencsi (which is assistant manager and player in the same time) and Grigore Sichitiu (technical director).
