Marcus Crandell, a former Canadian professional football quarterback, is the current offensive coordinator of Saskatchewan Huskies of University of Saskatchewan. He was born June 1, 1974. From 1997 to 2008, Crandell played 11 seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos and Calgary Stampeders. He also spent time in the NFL Europe and XFL. After the Stampeders won their 89th Grey Cup in 2001, Crandell was named Grey Cup Most Valuable player. As the Roughriders’ backup quarterback, Crandell won the Grey Cup championship in 2007.
He was promoted to Offensive Coordinator with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2011. He was promoted to quarterbacks coach halfway through 2012 and didn’t return to the Eskimos coaching staff for 2013.
Crandell was employed by the Roughriders on July 7, 2009 as an offensive assistant.

Crandell was a high school football player at Roanoke High School in Robersonville. He played college football at East Carolina University where he set more than 30 passing records and an offensive record. In 1996, he was a candidate to receive the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. He was a key figure in leading the Pirates to two postseason bowl appearances, including a victory over Stanford of 19-13 in the 1995 Liberty Bowl.
Crandell signed with the Eskimos in May 1997 to enter the CFL. After 35 games, Crandell was granted free agency on February 16, 2000. Crandell also quarterbacked the Memphis Maniax, now defunct XFL, and the Scottish Claymores in NFL Europe 2000. After failing to sign a contract with the Kansas City Chiefs or Green Bay Packers, Crandell signed a free-agent pact with Calgary Stampeders in May 2001. He was a Grey Cup champion with Calgary in 2001. In March 2005, he signed as a free agent for the Roughriders. He also spent four seasons with them, primarily as a backup.
For the 2014 season, Crandell joined the expansion Ottawa Redblacks as their quarterbacks coach. He became the offensive coordinator of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies in 2017.
