After being released from Braga, Marcos, 36 years old, joined C.D. Feirense was in the second level. In the next transfer window, he returned to his first club Parana, achieving promotion in the Serie A in 2017. He also retired immediately. During his two spells, he played in an all-time record 367 matches for the Estadio Vila Capanema team.
After spending a year in Italy with A.C. Renate in July 2010, Marcos signed with S.C. Braga after the club lost Eduardo Kieszek and Pawel Kieszek during the off-season. In January 2012, Marcos was released by Minho. He had only one competitive appearance, a 4-0 away victory against F.C. Arouca in the 2010-11 League Cup.
