During 2005-06, Salyers played in four teams – BCM Gravelines, BG Leitershofen, South Korea’s Busan Magicwings, and RB Montecatini Terme, Italy.

From 1997 to 2001, Salyers was a college basketball player at Samford University. He played with the Samford Bulldogs. He averaged 17.2 points per match in his senior season.
He moved to Turkey for the 2003-04 season and signed with Oyak Renault. With an average of 25.3 points per match, he was the highest scorer in the 2003-04 TBL season. He moved to Elan Bearnais Paau-Orthez in April 2004 to finish the season. This helped them win the 2003-04 LNB Pro A.
