He was the assistant coach at the Universite De Moncton as of 2001. Inducted into the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame, Albert was inducted in 2001. Assumption Life’s financial services company, Albert has been the Edmundston- Grand Falls – Campbellton sales manager.
Albert was named the tournament MVP for the 1992 pre-Olympic qualifying tourney. The Canadians reached the Olympics with a narrow victory, losing just three 5-set matches to France and making it to the quarterfinals. The tournament ended with them losing the 9-10th place game to South Korea. Albert is also the 3rd highest-ranked attacker and 5th-ranked receiver in 1992 World Volleyball League.

Albert led the Polyvalente Louis-Mailloux team to New Brunswick’s provincial high school volleyball championships, 1978 and 1979. He attended the Universite de Moncton and was selected to the Canadian junior national squad. In 1981, he moved to Calgary to join Canada’s senior national team. After 18 months, he left the team to become a Calgary cop. In 1985, he returned to the program but left again after a year to concentrate on his family and work. He was able to return to the national program through an agreement with Calgary’s police force in 1989.
His Canuck Stuff Club in Calgary, which was a three time Canadian senior champion, was Albert’s Canuck Stuff Club. He was also a five-time All-Star selection at the tournament. He returned to New Brunswick after the 1992 Olympics, where he was involved in coaching and teaching volleyball at both grade school and university.
