In August 2008, while visiting California, Nascimento was involved in a car accident. He suffered a concussion. This event is what triggered his musical impulse. He said this in a conversation with Ricky Lo, a Philippine music journalist.
Brian Patrick Lim, an indie filmmaker, was impressed by the efforts of Nascimento to market the songs and asked him to create the main theme for his film “Chasing Fire”. Francis Reyes also noticed it and invited him to appear on his NU107 radio show in the Raw in July 2010. This brought Nascimento’s music to a wider audience. He was particularly proud of the track “Nocturnal Desire” which eventually received more radio airplay.
On January 22, 2014, listeners voted another song “Midlife Crisis” into the regular playlist or Manila radio station Jam 88.3, which meant that one of the songs from Caught in the Tide would be on a regular mainstream radio playlist even before the album release.
